The original artwork Flores Colgantes, by K. Estredo, uses a restricted palette of warm hues: from deep-blood stains to luminous yellows and transparent, semi-cool greens. Its thematic expresses the confinement of natural elements when restricted by and dependent from artificial aids and environments. The matte, opaque quality of the hanging flowers conveys a subtle decay, partially disguised by an apparent vibrancy. They stand at odds with the dazzling power of the harnessed lights; a life-providing force that is visible but out of reach.
